Lloyd Steven was founded in 2021 by Lloyd McAlister in New York City.
The studio’s work is defined by experience rather than trend, shaped by Lloyd's dynamic past and contrasting creative environments.
From skate crews in Australia, sneaking into fashion shows in Paris, being homeless in Hackney, and a decade-long career as a fashion photographer in New York, these experiences inform a perspective grounded in both elegance and grit.
This duality informs a design approach that produces pieces intended to be worn, kept, and passed on.
Motivated to create objects that uplift, Lloyd's work is driven by a considered approach to form, proportion, and material.
Digital design is used as a tool to explore structure and refine detail, allowing forms to be resolved before fabrication. Each piece is then realised through traditional artisan methods, with close attention to finish, balance, and longevity.
The result is jewellery defined by clarity of design and quality of execution.
Each Lloyd Steven piece is made to order and produced by master craftspeople using carefully selected gold and silver alloys chosen for durability and long-term wear.
The studio works with individually sourced diamonds and gemstones, with transparency provided on origin, quality, and characteristics. GIA or IGI certification is supplied where applicable.
Production timelines typically range from four to eight weeks, depending on design complexity and material availability.
The studio offers private appointments for custom fine jewelry design, personal shopping, and styling.
From engagement rings to personal jewelry and objects, each commission is guided end to end from initial consultation to final delivery.
